MPA Singapore receives proposals for sea-based LNG reloading

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has received 14 proposals from 18 companies under its Expression of Interest (EOI) to expand the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as marine fuel at the Port of Singapore.

Participants included a broad mix of energy firms, fuel suppliers, traders, bunker operators, and storage providers, reflecting strong industry interest in enhancing sea-based LNG reloading capabilities alongside existing onshore infrastructure. According to MPA, eight of the proposals featured bio-methane and e-methane solutions, which offer lower lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions and support the global shipping sector’s energy transition goals.

MPA plans to collaborate
