Coral Marine executes first delivery of biofuels in Greece
Motor Oil Group, through its company Coral Marine, has completed the first-ever delivery of biofuel marine fuels in Greece.
The delivery took place aboard the cruise ship Celestyal Discovery at the Port of Lavrio and represents the first use of an oil-biofuel blend in the Greek marine market. According to the company, this innovative fuel blend is expected to reduce the ship’s CO₂ emissions by around 21%.
The biofuel component of the blend is produced at Motor Oil Group’s Verd facility from used cooking oil collected locally in Greece, combined with fossil fuel refined at the company’s own plant.
