Administration-led initiative in Hong Kong boosts skills needed for trainers
In April 2026, the Maritime Just Transition Task Force (MJTTF), made up of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), and the UN Global Compact (UNGC), delivered a “Training-the-Trainer” program in Hong Kong.
It was the world’s first Administration-led initiative of its kind and was organized with the Hong Kong Transport and Logistics Bureau as part of its Action Plan on Green Maritime Fuel Bunkering. The program also received support from the Hong Kong Shipowners Association and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, with additional contributions from several international maritime organizations and industry players.
